Agriculture & Livestock

Since our early history, Amarillo has had a well-established place in feeding the nation. With some 14 million acres (57,000 km2) of agricultural land, we primarily produce corn, wheat and cotton, along with sorghum, silage, hay and soybeans. Food manufacturing made up our largest export category in 2013, at nearly $216 million. These exports include the businesses that transform livestock and agricultural products into ingredients and food.

Not only do we have the infrastructure to support exports both domestically and globally, Amarillo is home to generations of farmers, ranchers and agricultural scientists who work collaboratively to feed people throughout the world. These unique resources are at the ready for additional business opportunities.
