New Incentives - Pacific Cheese
The Amarillo EDC board unanimously approved a $2.7 million incentive package for Pacific Cheese Co. for the development of a $10 million cheese processing facility. The Amarillo EDC will provide a five-acre site and fund the building construction at a cost of $8.5 million with $5.8 million to be paid back over a 20-year period. The company hopes to complete construction later this year and could begin full production within one to two years. Seventy new jobs are planned when the facility reaches full production. The new 40,000 square-foot facility will be located in the CenterPort Business Park on the east side of Amarillo.
Pacific Cheese Co. is a cheese processor of various cheese and dairy products. They are one of the largest clients of Hilmar Cheese Co., which is building its facility in Dalhart.
