Amarillo Ranks #127 on 2015 Economic Strength Ranking by Policom

Policom’s 2015 Economic Strength Rankings are in and Amarillo is ranked #127 of the 381 Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the US and #10 of the 24 MSA’s in Texas. Amarillo’s ranking is up 10 points from #137 in 2014 and #310 in 2004 as the quality of the local economy continues to improve.

Amarillo EDC Board Votes 4-0 to Make Grant to Xcel Energy / SPS

Xcel Energy / Southwestern Public Service Co. has announced its intent to build a new leased corporate headquarters building in downtown Amarillo. The project entails a 114,000 square foot building and multi-story parking garage on the city block currently occupied by the Renniassance Office complex and a city parking lot. Minnesota developer Opus Corp. proposes building the $42 million structure and leasing it, long-term, to Xcel subsidiary Southwestern Public Service Co.

WT EnterPrize Challenge Continues to Boost Local Economy

The WT EnterPrize Challenge continues to enable local entrepreneurs to add more jobs and boost Amarillo's economy.
