Ben E. Keith Foods offers customers more than 20,000 products, consisting of national brands as well as its own exclusive brands, in all broad line distribution categories – dairy, fresh and frozen meats, frozen foods, produce, poultry, seafood, disposables, and restaurant equipment and supplies. They have a wide-ranging customer base including, white tablecloth and casual dining restaurants, hotels, schools, healthcare and other institutional food distribution facilities.
In 1993 the Amarillo EDC provided the company with an $11,650 grant to purchase a 50- foot wide piece of property along the south property line in order to make it possible for the company to expand its existing Amarillo distribution center. Then in 2004 the Amarillo EDC assisted Ben E. Keith in a project to build a new 300,000 square-foot distribution center by providing at no cost a 53-acre parcel of land at Loop 335 and N.E. 24th. That project was undertaken as a catalyst to spur further development of an additional 287 acres of adjacent Amarillo EDC-owned property as a distribution-oriented industrial park, known today as Amarillo CenterPort.
