Servi-Tech was organized in 1975 by three farmer-owned cooperatives to provide technical service for agricultural producers in southwest Kansas. Servi-Tech expanded into northeast Colorado in 1981 and into Nebraska in 1983. In 2004, Servi-Tech built a new testing lab in Amarillo and employs at least 12 full time employees at the Amarillo location. Servi-Tech currently provides consulting and laboratory service to the High Plains area that produces 11 million acres of wheat, nine million acres of corn, five million acres of grain sorghum and 1.2 million acres of alfalfa, 1.2 million acres of soybeans, 50,000 acres of sugarbeets and a mix of dry beans, barley, oats, potatoes, millet, sunflowers, grasses and vegetable crops.
The Amarillo EDC provided a $140,000 incentive grant, secured by a second lien on the facility, to assist with the lab’s construction.
