Maxivolt’s products are designed to alleviate problems associated with sudden electrical surges or spikes due to a tornado season thunderstorm, or even a transformer malfunction at the other end of their power line. Since 1988 MVC has been manufacturing surge suppression devices for everything from a typical single family residence to companies like ConocoPhillips or Westinghouse.
In 1999, Maxivolt was awarded a $32K grant from the Enterprize Challenge and the owners say it was a turning point for their growth, which includes marketing its patented products to Canadian industry for use in oil and gas exploration and development and other fields, and state highway departments which use small "ICP systems" to protect traffic signals from electrical damage. Now, MVC clientele includes dozens of school systems, municipalities, oil and gas and energy companies and virtually all types of manufacturers. All have a common need - to prevent electrical surges, spikes or "transient" voltage from frying or even slightly damaging their vital electrical equipment.
Maxivolt is located at 800 S. Rusk, Amarillo, Tx 79106. Owners Mark and Jeannette Wingate can be reached at 806-371-0722; go to their website at www.maxivolt.com for additional information.
