The owners of a local patio and fireplace store acquired a cushion and umbrella manufacturer in 1990 and relocated its operations here. The project was financed with a bank loan and additional financing provided by the Amarillo EDC totaling $165,000, related to the creation of 20 new jobs. Seven years later the company sought to expand the manufacturing operation, representing a $550,000 investment. The Amarillo EDC provided a $250,000 loan at no interest, contingent upon the creation of 40 additional jobs.
