AirUps is a company that started out manufacturing inflatable obstacles for use in paint ball courses and has transitioned into opportunity in the wind industry. Currently wind farms use hay or styrofoam to “rest” the blades on while installation is taking place. AirUps saw an opportunity and developed a better solution for “resting” the blades - an inflatable product that is reusable and environmentally friendly. AirUps has six full-time employees and one part-time employee.
The Amarillo EDC approved a small business interest rebate to assist AirUps with the interest on a commercial loan the company secured. The company will use the money to further develop their wind-related product line.
