ZargesTubesca Division Wind

German company, ZargesTubesca Division Wind, will break ground on a five million dollar 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Amarillo, Texas at noon on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. The new facility, a project of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, will be located exactly south of the Ben E. Keith facility which is located at 2300 N. Lakeside Drive in the CenterPort Business Park.

ZargesTubesca Division Wind is the company’s division to enter into the United States wind industry market. ZargesTubesca will manufacture a turnkey solution for internals for wind towers: ladders, service lifts, platforms and fittings. The parent company, located in Weilheim, Germany, is Zarges Aluminum Systems.

The CEO of ZargesTubesca Group, Frank Haberstroh, and CEO of ZargesTubesca Division Wind, Bernd Gopfert, both from Weilheim, Germany, will be attending the groundbreaking ceremony. In addition, Minister Chrisoph Eichhorn, Director of the Political Department from the German Embassy in Washington and Ben Bueckner, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany will attend the ceremony in support of Zarges which has a successful 75-year history in Germany. Jan Christopher Wiedemann, Managing Director of the German-American Chamber of Commerce will also be in attendance.

ZargesTubesca Division Wind’s new facility will bring 100 jobs to Amarillo within a five-year time period. The company currently is in operation with a small business office, in downtown Amarillo, with the team being led by Tim Dannels, Managing Director of the ZargesTubesca US division.

Construction on the new facility will begin immediately and will be in operation by October 2010. CIB has been selected as the primary contractor.
