Organizations ban together to launch website to support local businesses
The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (Amarillo EDC) in partnership with the Northwest Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the WT Enterprise Center, and Workforce Solutions Panhandle, launched a website of business and employee resources specific to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in an effort to help citizens stay informed and make appropriate business decisions.
“As we spoke with other representatives within our business ecosystem, we felt it was important to create this site to consolidate the vast amount of resources regarding business operations in the time of COVID-19,” Kevin Carter, President & CEO of the Amarillo EDC, said. “On the site there is a wealth of business financial and legal resources and workforce information. The area’s small and large business support organizations hope it can be a one-stop-shop for citizens who are looking for information and support during this challenging time,” Carter stated. “It’s always been important for us to be a resource to the community, this site is the best way for us to do so during this uncertain time,” Carter said.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Business Resources site houses informational links to government resources, applications to small business loans, general employment law FAQs, and more.
“We’re going to be working to constantly update this site,” Reagan Hales, Vice President of Business Development at the Amarillo EDC, said. “We have partnered with other business resource organizations to make sure that we are providing current, accurate information that will be useful to our community. We also have a form on the site where visitors can communicate their concerns, needs and suggest other topics they want to see covered on this site,” Hales stated.
